Nursing Home Administration Program
Spring & Fall 2008
120 hour Core of Knowledge Program
The Special Programs Department of York College of Pennsylvania has developed a strong educational program of training for those persons wishing to pursue a career in the Long-Term care field. The program, staffed by members of the Office of Community & Professional Development and taught by faculty and area professionals is designed to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for those seeking to become Nursing Home Administrators.
Program established: Fall 1994.
This program consists of sixteen (16) modules, each 7.5hrs in length resulting in 120 hours of instruction focused on the most important areas of study in each of the disciplines related to the position. The classes are offered during both the Fall and the spring semesters. Each module is completed at the end of the days class. The complete 120 hours can be completed in one semester or spread out over multiple semesters. Classes are rotated each semester to allow for a participant to take all their classes on either Friday or Saturday, during a multiple semester program.

Test Preparation Course: November 14 & 15, 2008
Instructors: These courses are taught by faculty and/or area professionals.
Format: Each class meets on a Friday or Saturday - 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuition: $115.00 per module
$1750.00 if registered and paid prior to the start of the semester classes.
Note: Individual modules may be paid for and taken. This is quite good for Continuing Education Units.
Approval: Each module is approved by the State Board of Nursing Home Administration.
