Mass Communication - Bachelor of Arts
Purpose
Mass Communication teaches students the theoretical principles and pragmatic skills necessary to build a career in media. Experienced faculty prepare students for broadcasting, video or audio production through courses in radio and video production, copywriting, equipment operation in both the field and the control room, and media law.
Graduation Requirements
Mass Communication majors must complete 124 credits, maintain a cumulative average of 2.0 of higher, and satisfy the college's residency and General Education requirements. Students must also earn at least a 2.0 in all courses taken in their major.
Public Relations - Bachelor of Arts
Purpose
Public Relations majors learn the theoretical principles behind Public Relations and the practical applications of their efforts. Students use a variety of media to convey messages in corporate, government, and media environments. Public Relations courses allow students to research, analyze, develop and evaluate plans for corporations, while the Advanced PR Campaign Strategies Class sends student groups into the community to assist in the development of public relations campaigns for non-profit organizations.

Speech Communication - Bachelor of Arts
Purpose
The Speech Communication major prepares students for careers in education, sales, advertising or business, as well as health and government organizations. Students receive a broad theoretical foundation and practical interpersonal, group and public communication skills. Graduating seniors leave with the combined technical knowledge and practical communication skills necessary for professional careers.

Speech Communication majors must complete 124 credits, achieve at least a 2.0 grade point average and satisfy the college's General Education and residency requirements. Students must also attain at least a 2.0 in all courses within their major.
