Academic Advising

Location:
Miller Administration Building, Room 23

Description:
The Academic Advising Office serves as a clearinghouse for students with general advising questions and helps support academic advisors with advising issues. The advising system at York College is a faculty-based advising system in which all full-time faculty, select adjunct faculty and administrators, and professional advisors provide academic advising to their assigned advisees.  All matriculated students are assigned to an academic advisor who represents each student's chosen major field of study.

In addition to providing academic advising services, the Academic Advising Office advises students in academic difficulty, coordinates services for students with disabilities, processes students' changes of major, refers students to campus resources, and assists the Dean of Academic Affairs as needed. The staff of the Academic Advising Office welcomes students to visit our office to discuss advising issues, declare or change a major or minor, request a new academic advisor or submit disability documentation.
