York College nursing students gain real-world experience while providing valuable health information and services to elderly and disabled residents in various nurse managed centers.
Health promotion and disease prevention services are provided free of charge through nurse managed centers to economically disadvantaged and medically under-served residents of various housing complexes. In the wellness centers, senior level community health nursing students work under the supervision of York College nursing faculty to meet their community health nursing clinical practice requirements.
