Nursing students write in American Psychological Association (APA) Style. APA style is an editorial style that the social and behavioral sciences have adopted to present written material in the field. The APA style includes rules or guidelines that the student follows to ensure clear and consistent presentation of written material.
York College nursing students may use an APA template to help them format their written assignments. The template sets up a blank document in APA 6th edition format and automatically formats the reference list.
The APA Template is available on computers in all YCP computer labs.
To open the template, click:
Office Button - New - My Templates - APA6thEd.wiz - OK
Print instructions in pdf format
Additional APA commands can be found under APA menu.
WARNING! Do only what the template asks you to do. For example, don't press Enter after typing title, author, etc. Don't put periods after page numbers in references unless the template shows it in the example.
