  • Area Coordinator

    The Area Coordinator is responsible for managing all functions of a residential complex of approximately 600 -1200 students and supervising a staff of undergraduate Resident Assistants (12-18), Undergraduate Desk Assistants (10-25), and an undergraduate Desk Supervisor.  The Area Coordinator coordinates complex programs, serves in the on-call rotation, hears student conduct cases, conducts weekly staff and supervisory meetings, responds to emergencies, and serves as a liaison between the Residence Life Office, Campus Operations (including Campus Safety), the Student Affairs Office, and other administrative areas as needed.  The Area Coordinator also has a Student Life assignment in one of the following areas:  Volunteer Services, Commuter Programming, Intercultural Student Life Programming, and First Year Experience Programming.  This position lives in College provided housing (live in). Excellent benefits package including a competitive salary, partially furnished apartment, and full meal plan.

    Requirements are as follows: Master’s Degree in student personnel, student affairs administration, counseling or related field. Experience in Residence Life preferred. Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as required.

  • Assistant Director of Alumni Relations

    A full time administrative position of Assistant Director of Alumni Relations is available immediately. Responsibilities for this position include planning and implementing on and off-campus alumni events; implementing a comprehensive young alumni and undergraduate relations program; editing and compiling written materials , including short feature articles and profiles, for the York College Magazine and the electronic newsletter; maintaining and preparing materials for the alumni relations website, alumni social media sites, and electronic (e-mail) communications; selecting, training and managing a network of student and alumni volunteers; and serving the diverse needs and requests of our alumni base.

    The position requires a bachelor’s degree and one year of full-time professional experience is preferred, as well as demonstrated proficiency in both verbal and written expression. Proficiency with data base management and website and social media management is also essential. Other requirements for this position include excellent organizational and management skills, leadership experience, effective interpersonal skills, and a willingness to travel and work frequent evening and weekend hours. Full time experience in alumni relations, advancement or related fields is preferable. Other characteristics important for success in this position include collegiality and teamwork, and an ability to relate well to a diverse constituency.

  • Assistant Director of the York College Fund

    York College of Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of the York College Fund to serve in the Advancement Division. The Assistant Director will work to achieve overall York College Fund goals, with direct responsibility for the phonathon, student philanthropy and our “Go Green” day of giving program.

    York College has achieved six consecutive years of record charitable support from its benefactors and looks forward to welcoming a dedicated professional to the team. Reporting to the Director of the York College Fund, the ideal candidate will join a group of motivated, team-oriented professionals. We seek an individual with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.     A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a minimum of one year of development/fundraising experience with successful phonathon management is preferred.  Salary and benefits will be competitive.

  • Library Director

    York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Library Director. The Library Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the library in support of the college’s mission and vision.  This position reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and through the CIO to the Provost. S/he is responsible for forging effective partnerships with Information Technology staff and other campus units to develop and implement an integrated, student-centered learning environment using the most recent thinking and state-of-the-art practices in Library Science. 

    Essential Functions:

    Lead strategic planning and assessment of library services.Manage all aspects of library operations including hiring, managing, and evaluating library personnel.Coordinate a wide range of college and community constituents to provide effective online and on-campus services and programsPrepare and monitor library budgetCoordinate safety and emergency weather response protocols

    Facilitate campus-wide education about and compliance with relevant law 

    Requirements:

    Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent from an ALA-accredited school

    Preferred: PhD degree in Library Science or related discipline

    Significant administrative experience in an academic libraryExperience with highly collaborative management of library personnelExperience with planning, assessment and budgetingExperience with collaborating with Information Technology staff

    Preferred: Current membership in professional associations in Library Science

  • Network Engineer

    Two full-time Network Engineer positions are available immediately at York College of Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include: providing support for wired and wireless networks, network hardware and software installation, monitoring and configuration, maintenance of the campus firewall; managing campus telephone system including updates, hardware and software installations, low level repairs, moves/adds/changes, providing information needed for proper budgeting and chargebacks, and resolution of tickets; performing basic system administration and account management; providing integration services with third party systems including those hosted at external providers; providing training and technical advice on supported technologies; performing other duties as assigned. These positions are in the Systems Group and report to the Senior Systems Administrator. They work closely with other information technology and library staff.

    Requirements for these positions are:

    Associate’s degree or equivalent in a computer related field (such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Engineering, or Management Information Systems) is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 2 years of experience in network management and experience supporting an enterprise telecommunication system preferred. Broad understanding of operating systems including Unix/Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. Familiarity with administration of firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, VPNs, authentication /authorization systems, and endpoint security techniques. Strong understanding of network and data security principles as they apply to deploying and maintaining business-critical network infrastructure. Familiarity with network management platforms such as SolarWinds. Familiarity with mobile devices, gaming systems, and other Internet appliances. Ability to function independently and in a fast paced environment. Have excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

    A full-time administrative Assistant Director of Career Development Center is available beginning October 2016.  The Assistant Director provides career advising, presentations and programming to students and alumni needing assistance with career discernment, assessment, decision making, career exploration, job search preparation, and professional development through workshops, classes, group sessions and individual appointments to explore career opportunities and develop career related skills and competencies; partners with faculty and academic departments to integrate career exploration and career readiness competencies into the academic program; serves as a liaison between students and employers regarding career opportunities and experiences; coordinates federal employment programming; participates in the collection and reporting of graduate outcomes; coordinates department outreach and assistance to special populations including undeclared students and veterans; and serves as a liaison with student organizations. The Assistant Director also assists with overall office processes and operations including the training and supervision of work study staff, special events/ job fairs, special projects and partnerships with departments on campus. Twelve month (year round) position with comprehensive benefits package. 

    Required Qualifications: Excellent communication, presentation and teaching skills; knowledge of best practices in career development; adaptable and results-oriented with ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams; experience with assessment data driven decision making; knowledge of related technologies. Master’s Degree in Counseling, Student Personnel or Higher Education and two or more years of direct experience in collegiate Career Development or Human Resources.

  • Instructional Designer

    York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Instructional Designer. The Instructional Designer will work with faculty to collaboratively plan, design, develop, enhance, and revise course materials for undergraduate and graduate courses. She/he will provide one-on-one and workshop services to faculty in various disciplines and work as part of a team (with Library and Information Technology, Center for Teaching and Learning, and faculty leaders) to ensure development and enhancement of courses that meet College and faculty standards, adhere to copyright and intellectual property standards, and ADA compliance requirements with a focus on supporting the integration of interactive materials and e-learning technologies. The Instructional Designer will also collaboratively help select the technologies that the College will promote and support, develop training materials including self-help documents, templates, online tutorials, and other multimedia materials to assist faculty with the use of course management tools and other technologies. 

    The ideal candidate will have earned a Master’s degree in Instructional design or closely related field, have at least two years of experience with instructional design, including universal design in a higher education setting. Experience with Camtasia, Articulate, Moodle and/or comparable e-tools is a plus. Preferred qualifications include an earned PhD in Instructional Design; experience in post-secondary level teaching with e-learning tools; experience with creating and supporting dynamic, collaborative learning spaces; experience with supporting online programs and distance learners; and experience with outreach and program development. 

    This position reports to the Chief Information Officer and will start on January 2nd, 2017.
