Study Abroad

Peru. Egypt. Costa Rica. London. The list is as endless as the possibilities for students who want to take their education to an international level.

From short-term trips to full semester excursions, York College students are taking advantage of opportunities to see the world and be immersed in a different culture. We love seeing students come back with stories to tell and experiences to share that improve them academically, emotionally, and professionally.

These eye-opening experiences require commitment, responsibility, independence, attention to detail, and being accepting of different ways of living. Sound like you — or the person you are working on becoming? Then studying abroad is what you need to explore. Faculty and staff can help you identify potential options and get prepared with study abroad information sessions, our spring Around the World Festival, and our fall Global Education Fair. Then it’s on to finding a potential program and applying — with some dreaming big in between.

See how our students immerse themselves in another culture to take their education internationally in this overview of Study Abroad at York College.

Parkent D, Cuernavaca Mexico
"It was the best experience of my life. I learned more about cultural sensitivity and diversity than I ever could have in a classroom or from a book. With the years of classroom Spanish that I put in before traveling, I was able to develop my language skills greatly through just three weeks that I spent abroad. These skills I now use as a nurse on a regular basis to improve outcomes in our Spanish speaking population."
