GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
York College welcomes applications from students enrolled in a challenging college preparatory program who have the desire to study within a competitive curriculum. The York College Admissions Committee reviews applications on an individual basis through rolling admission. When looking at the application, a number of factors are taken into consideration, most importantly, the student's college preparatory courses. The student's grade point average, class rank, involvement in activities, and combined SAT score are considered. Letters of recommendation are also encouraged.
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE
- Submit an application along with non-refundable $30 fee and an official transcript of secondary school work. Students with a prescheduled visit will receive an application fee waiver that may be applied only to the application.
- Include a recommendation from high school official (where available).
- Submit scores from SAT test taken during the junior or senior year.

TRANSFERS
- Transfer students from two or four year institutions are welcome.
- College transcript required; credit given for most courses with "C" grade or better.
- Minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0 for most majors.

FINANCIAL AID

Presidential Academic Scholarship
$26,000 over 4 years - $6,500 awarded annually as a full-time student living on campus
$18,000 over 4 years - $4,500 awarded annually as a full-time student commuting from home
Eligible students are first-time, full-time students who graduated in the upper two-fifths of their high school class and have an SAT score of 1250 (Critical Reading and Math) or higher or a composite ACT score of 28 (optional writing test required) or higher. -
Dean's Academic Scholarship
$18,000 over 4 years - $4,500 awarded annually as a full-time student living on campus
$10,000 over 4 years - $2,500 awarded annually as a full-time student commuting from home
Eligible students are first-time, full-time students who graduated in the upper two-fifths of their high school class and have an SAT score of 1100 -1240 (Critical Reading and Math) or a composite ACT score of 24-27 (optional writing test required).

ACADEMIC INFORMATION
HOUSING |
Traditional residence halls, minidorms featuring suites, houses, apartments, and off-campus housing. More information is available in the Campus Life section. All residence hall rooms are wired for computers, cable television, and telephones.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Extensive NCAA Division III athletic program; member of the Capital Athletic Conference, Full intramural sports for men and women, national fraternities and sororities, active student government, religious organizations, and Black Student Union; over 80 different clubs and special interest groups, student theatre, newspaper, yearbook, musical organizations, concert-lecture series, major concerts, dances, movies, plays, and many other college activities. COMPUTER NETWORK
E-mail, library catalog search capability, online course registration, and full Internet access is provided on the high speed campus-wide computer network which is directly wired to all student residence rooms, offices and classrooms, and is also available at off campus locations via modem. Over 300 up-to-date computers in 14 computer labs, and 150 software packages are available for student use.
