Faculty - Accounting - Applications are invited for a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Accounting position in the Department of Business Administration at York College of Pennsylvania beginning as soon as January 2009. Qualified candidates will be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Financial and Managerial Accounting. In particular, we seek someone who is a CPA, CMA and/or CFE. Qualified candidates should posses an earned doctorate in Accounting, or an earned doctorate in another business related field with at least 21 graduate credits in Accounting. Persons with a JD/CPA will also be considered. Graduate coursework in finance and the willingness to teach the occasional finance course is a plus as is the ability to teach international accounting and/or accounting information systems. The person chosen for this position will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in college teaching, scholarly activity and college/community service. Faculty - Electrical & Computer Engineering - The Electrical & Computer Engineering program at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning in August 2009. Applicants are sought with a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or closely related field who are “student oriented”. Candidates should have the ability and desire to teach a broad range of ECE courses. Industrial work experience is preferred. Candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for outstanding teaching/advising, service and scholarly activity; develop undergraduate teaching laboratories; and work with industry and undergraduate students in applied research. Faculty - Sports Management - Applications are invited for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Education, Division of Sport Management beginning in August 2009. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated the ability to teach and professionally prepare Sport Management students for the division’s work experience and practicum programs. The ability to teach an undergraduate sport management course in Professional Development is essential. The ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses, such as Introduction to Sport Management and Sport Administration/Management Practices, would be a plus. Qualified applicants are required to hold a masters degree plus a minimum of five years of professional/teaching experience in both professional development and experiential education. Preference will be given to the candidate who has demonstrated the ability to manage/administer experiential learning and is currently enrolled in a sport management terminal degree program. Area Coordinator - Residence Life - Full-time administrative Area Coordinator position available at York College of PA. The Area Coordinator is a live in, full time, 12 month position responsible for managing all functions of a residential complex of approximately 600-800 students and supervising a staff of undergraduate Resident Assistants (12-15), Undergraduate Desk Assistants (10-25), and an undergraduate Community Assistant. The Area Coordinator promotes safety in the complex, serves in an on-call rotation, hears discipline cases, conducts weekly staff and supervisory meetings, responds to emergencies, and serves as a liaison between the Residence Life Office, Campus Operations, the Student Affairs Office, and other administrative areas as needed. The Area Coordinator also serves in an auxiliary capacity to one of the following areas: The Student Leadership Program, Campus Wellness, or Volunteer Services. This auxiliary assignment includes advising student organizations, implementing programs, and serving on appropriate committees. Associate Director of Career Development - York College is a comprehensive residential college of 5,000 students, offering a broad range of majors and programs in professional fields as well as the arts and sciences. The College is situated in south-central Pennsylvania, with Washington DC a two hour drive to the south and Philadelphia an equal drive to the east. A full-time administrative position of Associate Director is available in the Career Development Center beginning August 2009. The Associate Director assumes the primary responsibility for assisting the academic departments in maintaining a strong campus-wide internship program. As the coordinator of the campus-wide elective internship program, this includes locating and maintaining sites, promoting internship opportunities, disseminating information, recruiting and preparing students, and acting as a resource for faculty supervisors. In addition, the Associate Director supports broader Career Development activities, services and operations including presentations and outreach, career counseling, job & internship fairs and special programming. The Associate Director also updates and maintains the departmental website. Professional level presentation, program development, organizational, communication, training and relationship building skills are essential. Schmidt Library - Information Services/Collection Maintenance & Reserves Specialist - Schmidt Library invites applications for a full-time staff position available July 1. Hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., plus occasional Saturdays. Supervise shelving, shelf-reading, space allocation, and condition of all collections. Process electronic, print, and media reserve materials and have knowledge of pertinent intellectual property rules and guidelines. Work in a flexible, changing environment to assist patrons using library materials and media equipment.
